It appears that there is some disagreement regarding who the top wide receiver is in the 2024 draft class.

While Marvin Harrison Jr., the standout from Ohio State, has long been considered the premier player at the position, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler supported a claim from NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, stating that LSU’s Malik Nabers is being regarded by “several teams” as the top receiver in the draft.

ESPN’s Field Yates also weighed in, suggesting that the debate between Nabers and Harrison is genuine for many teams, emphasizing that Nabers being the first receiver selected “should not be dismissed.”

In the most recent mock draft by B/R’s NFL Scouting Department, Harrison was projected to be chosen with the No. 4 pick by the Arizona Cardinals, while Nabers was slated to go at No. 7 to the Tennessee Titans. However, Harrison holds the top spot overall among all prospects in B/R’s latest big board, with Nabers ranked as the No. 2 receiver in the class.

As the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, the former Buckeye boasts an impressive resume, having earned unanimous All-American honors in the past two seasons and clinching the 2023 Fred Biletnikoff Award after amassing 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns.

On the other hand, Nabers, despite lacking a famous lineage, enjoyed a stellar career with the Tigers, with his 3,003 career yards ranking first in program history. He, too, was named a unanimous All-American in 2023 following a season where he recorded 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Regardless of which receiver is chosen first, it’s evident that both Harrison and Nabers possess the potential for stardom in the NFL. With their skills capable of making them primary targets at the professional level, any team would be thrilled to incorporate either of them into its offensive lineup.
